TEEF Vitae+ works through the oral microbiome. It specifically strengthens the “good” bacteria, displaces harmful ones and thereby helps break down plaque, which forms the basis for tartar. As your pet drinks, the solution spreads throughout the mouth, even if it swallows quickly.

Our prebiotic formula weakens harmful bacteria in the mouth in four ways to restore balance to a healthy oral microbiome. This balance promotes stronger teeth, healthy gums and fresh breath. 

Soluble fibre prevents bacteria from taking up dietary sugar, so they cannot turn it into acid and plaque. The vitamin enables beneficial bacteria to feed on proteins instead of sugar, producing healthier (less acidic and inflammatory) by-products. Potassium bicarbonate neutralises acidity in saliva, creating a less destructive environment in the mouth. Finally, the amino acid disrupts plaque and helps remove existing dental biofilm (plaque and tartar) from teeth for stronger, whiter teeth. Best of all, this shift towards a balanced oral microbiome provides MUCH BETTER PROTECTION!

Yes, the formula is completely tasteless and odourless.

As many as 80% of customers even ask us whether it is normal for their pets to drink considerably more water with TEEF Vitae+; we have no explanation for this.

Only in a very few individual cases have customers told us that their dogs were initially hesitant to drink water with TEEF Vitae+.
Dogs have the intelligence of a three- to four-year-old child and, like children, may react suspiciously or sceptically when they notice that their owners have added something to their water.
This behaviour is completely natural because dogs are very sensitive to changes around them and notice when something is different. Some dogs initially avoid the water even though it has no taste or smell.

A long-standing customer from Bern, Switzerland, had the same problem at first. She persisted until her dogs gave in and drank the water.
Today they drink it without problems. The customer is very satisfied, and her dogs’ dental health is excellent.

The slight yellow tint in the water comes from an adjusted concentration of riboflavin (vitamin B2), which is naturally yellow.
This change is completely normal and harmless because vitamin B2 plays an essential role in supporting beneficial bacteria in the mouth.
TEEF Vitae+ remains completely odourless and tasteless.

How visible the tint is depends, among other things, on water quality, bowl material and lighting. It does not affect effectiveness.

No. Because we care for the oral microbiome rather than “treating the body”, dosage does not depend on weight or size: 0.1 g per animal per day.

You can certainly try it, but we cannot guarantee it will be just as effective. Animals normally eat once or twice a day (and swallow fairly quickly). The key to success is taking the daily dose through drinking, which allows the ingredients to spread throughout the mouth and continuously improve the oral microbiome for better oral health.

For the best results, we recommend giving it in drinking water. Alternatives (for example a pipette or spray bottle, or mixing TEEF Vitae+ with a little liquid such as broth, soup or milk) are possible if drinking is difficult to manage.

Yes, it works just as well in a drinking fountain.

Our fine ingredients are not filtered out (except by an activated carbon filter, which filters everything). What matters is that enough ingredients remain in the water.

The amount of water is not important; how often you refill the fountain is.
For example, if you refill the fountain with fresh water every second day, we recommend adding two to three scoops of TEEF Vitae+ for one animal. If you refill it every third day, add three to four scoops.
As a guide, calculate one to two scoops per animal per day.

What matters is that your pet drinks all the water containing TEEF and therefore gets its full daily dose. Whether this is in 50 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml or one litre makes no difference; the full daily amount must be consumed.

Yes, you can mix TEEF Vitae+ with anything in the water to flavour or enrich it; this does not affect our ingredients.
Some customers whose pets naturally drink less offer them an extra small bowl each day with something they like (for example milk, broth, soup, yoghurt, sausage water, goat’s milk or Les Parfain).
This helps ensure that their pets get the necessary daily dose of TEEF Vitae+.

Yes, in many cases existing tartar may gradually loosen with consistent use because the bacterial biofilm on which it is based becomes destabilised and plaque is broken down.

However, if your pet already has periodontal disease, deep gum pockets or tooth-root problems, oral care alone is no longer enough and veterinary treatment is needed.

TEEF Vitae+ acts mainly locally in the mouth (through the oral microbiome and saliva) and is not metabolised “like a medicine”.

In practice, it is therefore also used for many animals with chronic conditions (such as epilepsy, heart problems, kidney failure, IBD, allergies and MDR1). No contraindications or interactions with medicines are known.

All our ingredients are recognised as safe and have been tested in humans and animals with many conditions for more than 40 years; no contraindications are known. 

6 g provides up to 60 uses (approximately two months for one animal at the recommended daily dose).
21 g provides up to 210 uses (approximately 7.5 months for one animal at the recommended daily dose).

The recommended dose is deliberately small because TEEF Vitae+ acts in the mouth while your pet drinks and supports daily oral care there (the oral microbiome). Only a very small daily amount is needed, regardless of the dog’s or cat’s size and weight.

Absolutely! We address the bacteria in your pet’s mouth, not your pet’s body. That is the science behind our product. Our ingredients dissolve quickly and spread evenly through the water bowl, regardless of its size. The key to success is daily dosing. This repeatedly bathes harmful bacteria in the ingredients to improve the oral microbiome.

TEEF Vitae+ is extremely concentrated and acts directly in the mouth, so 0.1 g per animal per day is enough, regardless of weight or size.

In households with several pets, make sure each animal receives the necessary daily dose. For example, if two animals drink from the same bowl, we recommend either two level scoops or one level scoop in the drinking water twice a day.

Ideally, each animal should receive its own daily dose so you can be sure it takes it in. If several animals share a bowl or one animal is severely affected, a second method has proved useful: apply it directly in the mouth with a pipette or spray bottle. This is especially effective in critical areas (such as back teeth) that drinking water may not reach as well.

Our prebiotic formula contains no calcium, oxalates or vitamin C compounds and does not affect mineral metabolism. It acts mainly in the mouth and has no effect on urine composition or stone formation.

Bladder stones in dogs are usually caused by an unsuitable diet and/or too little fluid intake. They can also result from urinary tract infections or liver dysfunction.

Some pets with a more sensitive digestive tract may have softer stools because of the soluble fibre in our product.

This is not a harmful reaction; fibre simply makes stools softer and bulkier.

Tip: For sensitive animals, start with half the dose and gradually increase it after a few days. If symptoms are severe or persist, stop use and consult a veterinarian.
